HOLMDEL - Good entertainment and comic relief is hard to come by these days. Fortunately, you don’t have to look any further. My Brother’s Girlfriend is a dramatic comedy which features amauture and semi-professional talent from across the state of New Jersey. The film is set to premiere on January 9, 2015 at The Duncan Smith Theater in Holmdel, NJ. Robert Hensen, a lead character in the film, is portrayed by Danny Siegel, a lifelong theater actor from Princeton, New Jersey, who finds, “acting to be a great way to express myself in ways that I could not do easily in real life, and it’s way cheaper than therapy!”

Siegel grew up in Haifa, Israel, moving to the states at sixteen to live with his aunt and uncle, after his mom passed away at an early age. Siegel loves the arts, saying, “I started acting around the age of 17, a little in high school and a lot in college.”

He found out about the film from Facebook and was instantly drawn to the premise of the film. “I come from theater and wanted to do more film projects. I liked the tone, and related to the story. I wasn't that different from the character of Chad when I was growing up.” As Robert Hensen, Danny acted as a peacemaker at times of total disequilibrium amongst his household. As powerful as these moments were, it was the simplistic actions that Robert took in his everyday life which defined his character. “My favorite scene was the discussion with my wife about Chad in bed. It was very easy to connect to this well written scene, and to be in the skin of a husband who is struggling to connect to his wife and his family.”

The film primarily was shot over 3-4 months, utilizing weekends to work around everyones busy schedules. Danny said that, “The shoot felt extremely efficient and professional from start to end. I have nothing but praise for crew and actors, we became like a family over a short period of time.”

As a veteran actor, Danny came to the set each day with much determination and comic relief for the moments that needed it. “Its not everyday that an actor like Danny Siegel sends you a facebook message about your film,” Director Nicholas Marchese said.

In closing, Danny had one statement: “Shooting this film was pure joy, I hope its gets a chance to be seen by everyone.”
