HOLMDEL, NJ - Monmouth County residents Nicholas Marchese and Charles Barr announced today that their feature film, My Brother’s Girlfriend, will be premiering at the Duncan Smith Theater in early 2015.

My Brothers Girlfriend is a dramatic comedy that interjects a realistic perspective on what is seen as societies new social norms. When 18-year-old high-school graduate, Chadwick Hensen (Joseph Scarpino), is pushed out into our modern day world, he has no sense of direction, sociality or parental discipline. With no motivation or initiative, he has fallen into the trap that too many of today's teens are destined to as well. With parents who idolize their older, more enthusiastic and intelligent son, Eric Hensen (Joseph Lacerda), he has no form of support or motivation.

In development since late 2012, My Brother’s Girlfriend was filmed predominantly across New Jersey, with locations in Red Bank, Holmdel, Perrineville, and Matawan. “I always found the streets of my town, Holmdel, to have a certain cinematic quality to them,” said filmmaker Nicholas Marchese.

“Monmouth County was the perfect place for a story of this magnitude to be filmed,” Charles Barr, the assistant director from Hazlet, said. “This being our first major production and feature film, it was pretty fitting to be shooting it at home. The setting compliments the theme of an all-American family lifestyle.”

In the film, Chad chooses to spend his days sticking to a routine. A hot and cold brotherly feud is balanced with the younger, and wiser, brother, Michael Hensen (Matthew Muscarello). When Eric comes home from graduating college with a surprise girlfriend, Shelby (Kelsey Potkay) two social classes clash. One relationship becomes destined to fail just as another begins to grow. Chad has no choice but to face the realities of life along with his brother’s girlfriend. Feelings are hurt, connections are broken and newfound confidence emerges. Other featured actors include Danny Siegel, Stacey Schnepp and Tom Frascatore.

“Holmdel is the town where I grew up in and this is a story I could personally tell.” Nicholas Marchese said. “New Jersey residents will watch the film and experience this world being built in their backyard. It’s truly remarkable for people in this area to experience my film this way.”

Tickets to My Brother’s Girlfriend will go on sale before its premiere in early 2015 at The Holmdel Theater Company’s Duncan Smith Theater, in Holmdel, New Jersey. To keep up to date with the latest information, follow the film on its official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/MBGF-Movie.
